Emissions
Does anyone know the emissions figures for an 2002 Camaro with and without cats fitted?
I've just discovered that here in the UK, a catalytic converter is not a legal requirement on a post 1992 car, but at test time it must meet emissions as though it had cats fitted. This means that if it can pass emissions without cats, I will be perfectly legal.
I'm going to find out the pre and the post 1992 figures for the UK to see if it's possible.Last edited by SS Camaro UK; 05-31-2012 at 09:52 AM. Reason: Changed 1995 to 1992

Not sure that it will pass. And not sure if you will be able to find readings for a car w/o cats. may be easier to compare the numbers of an car w/ cats against what your readings need to be in order to pass. The bigger the gap the better chance you would have. But then again someone may chime iin with what your looking for. good luck in your quest for info man

I found the pre and post 1992 information, a quick summary is:
Pre 1992 CO2 limit is 3.5% volume and hydrocarbon limit is 1200 parts per million.
Post 1992 CO2 limit is 0.3% volume and hydrocarbon limit is 200 parts per million.
If anyone knows what the CO2 and hydrocarbon values are, of an LS1 engine without cats, I'd be very interested to hear from you.
