always dirty- 2013 Ram 2014 Caddy ATS
Check all the connections for corrosion. Some baking soda and water will clean them up if there is any.

Yepp ensure your battery terminals are good and tight and clean....
Make sure the connections on the alt are good and tight also.

You can take all of it off and take it to murray's/oreilys/advanced autoparts/pep boys, they do it fro free. I would suggest taking each to a couple of them, sometimes places like autozone don't know what they are doing and can screw the test up.
I suggest taking them both because a shot alternator can ruin a battery.
I would do all of this on top of the other suggestions.

really sounds like a loose or corroded connector to me if the battery is new. Don't just go by the looks of the connector either. Take it off the battery and check the actual wire too. I've seen them corrode back up into the insulator.

Agreed. My $$$ is on a connection issue, if the battery and alt check good. Most likely battery connection/corrosion, but I've seen corrosion "up the cable" also. If that is the problem, change the whole cable, don't try to fix it. Don't ask me how I know....

^^^you got that right. I've been burned with an intermittent electrical issue in the past, only to learn that the positive battery cable had high resistance. Car came back with similar issues that you report, and the battery and alternator would check out ok.

If it has a double positive battery cable make sure to take it completely a part. Common problem with GM's. Don't rule out the battery just because it's new. N.E.W= never ever worked.
