    more common than you might think......a weak tensioner or bad idler can cause this to happen pretty quickly.

    It very common. I was walking my belt off when I was just bolt on power. Replaced the tensioner with a Katech solid piece and never had another problem.

    It is common.

    Very interesting!! I guess I learned something new on this post.........now I'm worried about my tensioner....is there a certain mileage this occurs or is it the increase in additional horsepower OVER stock HP ratings???

    I don't think HP has anything to do with it.....It's a pre-lubed bearing that's living in a very hot & hostile environment.....gonna crap out someday, just never know when.
    Maybe a jinx but.....mine's been ok for 160,000 miles & 10 years.

    Never had my belt even think about jumping off that balcony yet
