Door Handle Quick Fix

I was out returning videos to Blockbuster, tried opening my door handle and heard a thunk and the handle quit working. SOB!!

The rod came loose and popped off.

So inside the door we go:

Tools:
#2 and #3 cross tip screw drivers
zip ties

Step 1: grab a beer or two

Remove these screws off the door panel

Remove the these and disconnect the wire harness.

Next gently bump the bottom of the panel to pop it off the door.

Remove the plastic and sit in an area away from windows paint or anything that could stick to it.

Step 2:

Place the rod back into the hole, I then used 2 zip ties to secure it into place but not so tight that it prevents the function. One zip tie went around the rod and lever and the other went in between the the rod and lever around the zip ties so that it would not come off. Sounds confusing but if you look at the pic you can make it out.

Trim off excess and work the handle. Open and close the door several times to make sure it works.

Step 3: Re-install the door panel, reversing above steps.
