dome lights at night time turning on WTH

this morning on my way to work in my ta the lights come on when you hit bumps it's not all the way on they just sort of dim up like when you shut off the car and close the doors????

Just a guess -but it's probably your key bumping up and down. If you have a lot of stuff on your keychain-remove alot of the excess weight and see if that helps. After you shut my car off I can shift the key around and the domelights will come on and go off, kind of goofy but not a big deal yet for my car. Now if it did that while driving that would be annoying.

That would be awesome if that's what it was.

Hopefully it's something simple like this and not a bad switch or gound. Check your hatch and if that fixes it be sure to post back up.

I agree with the above. Sounds like it could be as simple as the hatch. I have seen some cars just need to have the latch re-adjusted. Not sure how it gets out of wack. Hope that is what the problem is.
