sounds to me like the car is just trying to keep the RPMS higher since your in overdrive and then when you give it alot of gas its downshifting for max performace......

id leave it unless you get a code, does the car seem to have less when she finally picks up?

i dont think its a problem, if you werent getting the same power once she finally kicks then id say look into other things but otherwise i think its just the computer trying to keep the RPM and then finally downshifting

not the best description in the world...but i know this situation is hard to describe...but to me it sounds like your torque converter may be having a problem locking up

that's basically what i meant. that typical short hesitation before the tranny shifts down can feel too long, but five seconds would definitely mean somethings not right.

Sounds like he's talking about the engine falling below the power curve and as the rpms reach where the engine makes power the car picks up.. Normal OD bogg @ highway speeds imho.. I'll bet it does'nt feel like this @ higher speeds? Just starts to pull nicely say over 60 mph?

Hmm in that case I'd have it looked @ by a machanic that understands your transmission. I no expert on the 4l60e, but maybe there's something going on with your pressure in OD..
