If it's a street race anything can happen. The Vette should hold a performance advantage over you but not enough that you should lose every time. Being as both cars are autos, the driver factor will not be as great as if they were manuals. Just make sure you leave in front of him as he'll be coming at you by the end of the 1/4 mile. Good luck.

Just throw a few quick mods on your car and you'll be okay. I'm no vette database, but I believe that their cam was a little bigger, their gears a little steeper, and their weight... a little less. Throw a lid and exhaust on your car and you'll be okay, or just talk him into having a passenger video taping from his car... Drive it like a street race, if he wins by more than a car lenght, ask for a car length to start the next one and after the start, merge into the middle of the lanes and block the pass, it's a wise-ass move, but it'll hinder his bragging rights!

stock for stock with both cars getting an even launch, the vette will win.
it makes alittle more power and weighs less.

can you say stall convertor???? Slip one of those in and have your way with him. $400 mod that will get you past a stock vette.

A good stall converter installed is round 800 hrm, He will win stock for stock... I know autos came with 2.73 gears like mine had, need to get rid of those. I dont know if the vette autos came with that, I doulbt it. Vette has a better exhaust and intake, also lighter.

Free mods and catback and you can prolly beat him... if you do have 2.73 gears then I would recommend changing them out, and a new torque converter makes loads of difference.

Not all have 2.73's. My auto had 3.23's it's RPO GU5 on the door plate. Fuddle's stall is $400 and I never factor in labor. What's the fun of getting mods if you don't have the fun of putting them in yourself? Either way, you're not that far off of the vette. A few well picked mods will put you in front.

From the numbers that I remember the Vette's are only about a tenth quicker in a 1/4. You can be a tenth quicker than someone on any given day, given the right circumstances, say getting a better jump on the lights at the track. On the street it's going to be a matter of who gets better traction off the line, but him saying 3-4 car lengths is wrong.
