If my memory serves me correctly, there was a post with detailed instructions here, going back maybe 4 or 5 years ago. I disabled mine at that time with a 10k resistor in place of the sensor and it has worked fine ever since.

Radio Shack, where else? Oh, a 1/2w 20% resistor should be fine. If you do not have any luck, PM me and I will
send you one. Of course you would have to thank the
    U.S. Navy for it<grin>!!!

I just ran a jumper wire on mine to bypass the sensor all together. Now the headlight switch works as it should. No problems here on mine,,,and I plan to do the other 4th gen when I get around to it as well.

That is what I figured...after I asked the question I went to Radio Shack and picked one up (actually, picked up 5 :-) ). Did the mod last night, worked great. No more blinding the gate guards on Fort Gordon.

    Thanks

This is what I've been doing for years as well. Over time, the "Brake" light on my dash became a permanent fixture - regardless of the E-brake's position - so I will give anyone a heads-up that you'll either have to deal with that or have it cleared.
