Dimmer wire. Wheres the easiest place to tap in?

Alright, Im almost done wiring everything in my car. I have 5 wires I need to T into the dimmer switch. Im not a fan of tapping such a large amount of wires into one like this, but I think ill be fine for this circuit.

I know the wire is grey, hell I can see it behind the fuse panel. But then it disappears into the wiring harness Im wondering if you guys have found this grey dimmer switch wire somewhere else that is more exposed. Hopfully someone can chime in here. Thanks

TTT... Someone here has tapped into this circuit and not used a "add a fuse". Where do you guys get your dimming power? A wire that is more acessible than the wire im looking at currently?

Fuel pressure gauge. Oil presure guage. Water temp guage. Voltmeter. 5" Tach, And re-wiring my Wide band 02 sensor, and my electric cutout.

I want all my gauges to dim with my light. Its not THAT important as I rarely ever dim my guages. All the wiring is done besides this.

Still deciding on wheather or not im going to remove the stock water temp sender and install my own, or add my own in the exsisting water hoses.

According to the wiring diagram - the drk green wire runs from the dimmer to fuse 16 "dimmer" and the gray wire comes off fuse 16 and is distributed to all interior lighting via the gray wires - control and switches, dash lights, door illumination lights, etc. I would take it off fuse 16 or a lead to one of the other lights.

Awesome, I saw quite a few different gray wires, any chance you could shoot the wiring diagram over to me? Be nice to have for the future.

It won't let me copy. I'll try a screen shot later if that helps.

Use a test light to probe the rear of the headlight switch, and see which wire dims the test light as you roll the switch... then use a scotch lock (T-Tap) to bite in and piggyback off said wire.

Good idear. I have a boat load of scotch locks I cant stand using them, Ide rather strip the wire and solder in wires.
