    Cruise Control Problems

I have a 2000 Camaro SS. I bought it used and the cruise control never worked from what I can recall. It simply does not work. It may just be the switch, but I was just wondering if anyone has had any similar problems.

    Thanks.

There's a switch the clutch pedal sits on when the pedal is fully released.

I had the plastic mount that holds the switch in place break and the clutch pedal couldn't fully depress the switch and cruise control stopped working for me until I replaced the mount.

Is the plastic mount there even if I do not have a clutch? My SS is automatic. I'll look for that plastic mount; I have a gut feeling the problem is electrical. And yes my TCS is plugged in, and how will that affect my cruise control?

No, is the cruise control plugged in? It is located on the driverside front

You should have a switch also. It will be at the top of the brake pedal arm. One is for brake lights the other cc.

So I took off the two plastic panels beneath the steering wheel today and looked everything over. At the top of the brake arm I found the switch for the CC and the brake lights. Everything seemed to be attached and in good condition. I think I'm either going to take it in, or order a new CC steering wheel switch to see if that makes any difference.

Really? Even on long road journeys? Last time I drove to Georgia I had a huge blister on my heel because of no CC.

Nope. Never. Although, the furthest I ever really go is to Vegas and that's only about 4 hours give or take depending on traffic and speed.

Nice. Driving through Illinois and Indiana it's all flat and borning. Also just a straight line. Cruise control is almost a must for those trips. Although I drove to Georgia a few weeks ago for the first time, and the roads through the mountains in Tennessee were amazing. CC through there would not be a good idea.
