The tranny crossmember is that black piece above the second band clamp from the right on the exhaust. If you don't see it I'll put an arrow pointing towards it but at the moment I just don't feel like doing the work.
Very easy to pull and replace.

See...I was thinking of the piece that gets replaced with a tunnel braced torque arm.

after I posted that I kinda wondered if that's what he was talking about, the tunnel brace. It'd take a helluva whack to bend the crossmember I would think. That thing is pretty solid. The tunnel brace on the other hand can be bent pretty easy.

If it's the tunnel brace it'll be mounted a little further back. I have the red drive shaft safety loop there in it's place. My stocker got bent a long time ago and I just used a couple washers to space it and it worked fine.

we're still trying to figure out if you mean the cross member or the tunnel brace. How do you know it's bent and how in the heck did you bend it if it is the cross member?

    This I can do.
But first, we need to make sure it is the right piece. And that I didn't throw it away.

    Let me grab a pic.

Okay...what I am thinking is the black crossmember under the car where the exhaust runs through. Tightly.
Connects to the torque arm. Behind the tranny mount.

This is the one in the garage.

I don't want to ship anything without knowing you need it, so verify and let me know.

not uncommon to have them sit a little higher on the passenger side. My passenger side is about 3/4" higher than my drivers side. I would definitely get a second opinion from someone familiar with f-bodies before I started putting parts on. Car act or drive funny at all? Why was it at the dealership to begin with?

no it wasn't at the dealer. i just took it there to get it looked at. i got the car for the amazing price of 9000 with only 17000 miles on it. yea its crazy but see the guy dropped the price because it had paint damage on the front ( easily fixed) and the the bent cross member. i took it to the dealer because it sounded to good to be true.

See if you can get a part number from a GM dealership.
    For the broken part.

If this is it...please PM me. My piece in the garage isn't going anywhere.

you're in Texas. There are some amazing f-body shops in Texas. I would look one up close to you and have them take a look at it before I did anything to it. Does it vibrate real bad or anything when you're driving it? Any signs other than the side to side difference height that would make you think something is wrong with it?
