Damn man sorry to hear that. Its sad when a man buys a car and its under warr. and he has a legitimate defect IMO and they wont take care of him. I would be sick about that as I am sure u were/are. I told a few guys on hear that were bragging on the LS1 saying it was the best engine blah blah that GM should have done something about the piston slap issue in alot of LS!'s and they said it doesnt hurt anything because GM said so. I told them why dont you think for yourself-GM is covering their asses. They insisted that tighter tolerences were hard to achieve to which I said-It sure is when your not even trying. In 2002 they changed the tolerences and the problem went away I read to which a guy on here said "you read well thats the problem right there say no more"- to which I said how do you go about learning things other than reading? Alot of people on this site freak out if you say one thing about chevy-even if its true. I mean I love chevy but I understand that problems do arise.

I read that the light only comes on at 2 qt's low.

Its at work right now, safe to drive it 15 miles home? Or get some oil and put it in
Just curious, what kind of oil are you running, brand, weight and viscocity?

nah, I'm not going to bitch at you for your choice of brand in motor oil... I'm thinking it is a 5w30 thing. Mine did it once with 10w30 also so I'm trying to see if that has something to do with it. Luckily my oil only gets low about when I need to change it anyway.

I would call the "GM Corp." on this and forget about your local service center. I had the samething with my local GM shop and I called the Main office of GM and they hooked me up.

If that is acceptable to them, ask them if you took 5.00 away from them everytime your car hit 1000 miles, would that be acceptable to them? When they say no,.. then say,.. where and what time do I take my car to get fixed.
