crappy paint job
ok this might appear in the appearance section but i figured id post in general help just because more ppl might see and post. i recently had to get a new bumper on my car and when it was painted it started flaking. and from wat i noticed there is no primer under the paint. would this cause such a problem?

I'm not a paint expert, but I believe there are flex additives that need to paint to keep it from cracking when the plastic bumper flexes. I think there is also specific prep work that needs to be done to plastic to get the paint to stick.
Either way it sounds like the paint job wasn't done correctly

^^ This. Sounds like an adhesion issue due to improper surface prep.

I think it will do that if the new paint is applied over the old clear coat too.. iirc
I agree with everyone tho.

I had my front bumper painted by a friend of mine that has been painting for years. Before i had it painted the clear coat started to flake out. I can see the smooth untouch black paint underneath. If they dont prepare the surface correctly the paint will flake eventually. Depending on the paint the painter gets it might need flex additive.
Sounds like the guy didn't took the time to prep the surface good before applying the paint.

Take it back to wherever you got it painted. If they are a reputable shop at all, they should warranty the work.
