Correct airlid instalation and easy fix to keep clips down

A suggestion for those having issues with the airlid clips. Just mold the tips of the cable ties like pictured to get around the plastic tab. Then cut the excess. Works great. Beats buying new clips and it will hold them down no matter what. You just need 2 small cable ties. Enjoy.

UPDATE: go to the bottom of the sticky for correct airlid install pics.

    Not a bad idea!

I just bent mine, but a black zip tie would a good idea.

Good idea. those things are like duct tape. always another use.
I used a die grinder on mine a while back. If you cut the slot a little deeper they stay too.

The front of my factory lid was a mostly duct tape and rtv until a got an slp lid. It just kept cracking and I would add another piece of tape.

The cable ties are a lifesaver. the very thick type will even hold exhaust pipe up for a few miles when a hanger breaks.

Two must haves for anyone with a car.

Not to drag up an old thread...but first problem it appears is the lid is set over the top of the bottom piece and that is why the clips do not stay.

The front LIP on the LID should fit inside/behind the bottom piece attached to the car!

Bryceslu is correct. But this trick can help those even with the lid installed correctly.

Make sure your lid is installed correctly:
Incorrect: (the bottom of the lid is sticking out of the base)

Correct: (the bottom of the lid is sitting inside the grove on the base)
