    Cooling Fans

Any one know how I can turn on my fans and test all speeds with out having to like drive the car to get it to turn on? I'm think one of my fans might be causing voltage issues. I have a 2001 chevy SS LS1.

what I would do is find the plug for the fans, unplug it, and run a power and ground wire from the battery. ground the fan, and then apply power to whichever side on the plug is high and low. it'll make it spin at whichever speed and hopefully tell ya what you need to know...

fans only run 1 speed when on, one fan will turn on at a certain temp and if the temp keeps rising to the next set temp the second fan will turn on. no speeds on the fans justy temp settings for when they turn on.

I agree, and to take that further, the thermostat (stock 195F) tells it when the fan should kick in. I did a 160 thermo swap and HPTuners tuned the car for the fans to kick in 160ish F...

if you have a diablo programmer that will work, just about all its good for beside some other stuff. but the way i showed you is just a way to bypass eveything to make it turn on when you want to.

since my beater doesnt turn on till past it, and with almost 300 K on it i need it to stay cool
