Comp Cams
Anyone tried a 54-426-11 from Comp Cams? Trying to find a good cam. I am going with an LS6 intake, pacesetter long tube headers and off road y pipe, 3200 stall and 3.73 gears.

Yes, I have this particular cam!!! For daily driver is not a bad choice, will give you some "lope" sounds super hot if you have a cut-out. I would maybe go little larger maybe the 281, but u would have to tune it right away. The 275 can run without a tune but not very well. I gained as much from the tune as I did the cam. Im a auto without a stall and this put me at 368 rear wheel HP.

just to clarify, I do have 222/224/ lsa 112 on the stock stall. Planning on going to 3200 to a 3600 stall soon.

Well the cam isn't that big considering the duration numbers. 222/224 at .050 is pretty tame. 112 isn't really that tight either.
It really depends on how much advance is ground into the camshaft too. With 4-6 degrees advance ground in, it will produce more vacuum and have less chop at idle, with a better torque curve down low. With good tuning it could be made to drive on the stock converter, although I personally wouldn't do it.
Without much advance ground in, the cam becomes more choppy, less vacuum, harder to idle while in gear.
Most of comps stuff, especially their off the shelf cams are ground with 4 degrees of advance right off the bat. This can be fudged around on the install while degreeing the cam as well.
I'm willing to bet with 112 lsa the cam already has a 108 icl. So it's not going to be super choppy, just noticable. Probably will idle around and drive okay.
