Cold air intake

On ebay they have cold air intakes for $100 witha k&n filter how come the ones at speed shops and on other sites are $200 + whats the diff can i get an ebay one

Usually the more expensive ones are 50-state smog legal and come with a C.A.R.B. sticker so you can show the smog police when you get an emisions test-- Cold air intakes are all pretty much the same when it cmes to performance--No matter what the manufacturers say--the maximum RWHP gain is only about 8-12.-Purchase though for the reputation of quality materials and ease of fitment---& smog legality if needed-----

I went the e-bay route for my gto's k&N intake. It was cheaper but was missing a piece. Just a rubber coupler but after reading around I found that to be common in the ones they were selling for the GTO's. Not sure why that piece in particular was missing but it was common. I had a coupler here that I just cut down to size to make it fit. Ebay is definitely a place to save some cash but you have to be very careful with what you're buying and research it if at all possible. Read the feedback and stuff like that.
