Cold = Strange sounds??
This past ''warm'' season, my car never made a squeak, or a rattle, and the egine sounded good. So 2 Questions..
Does cold weather make F-Bodies make strang noises.. or am i losing it. Seems like everything squeaks now..
And in the morning my engine, even when i let it warn. Makes a rattle somewhere under the hood. I had all my belts checked. And there all fine. Is this common in cold weather? Could it be my oil? Im bout 700 miles from a change.
Im OCD about my car.. i guess thats a good thing.
Thanks..

It could be normal and it probably is but there's no way of knowing without a detailed description of the noise. Think of it this way, do you move better or worse when it's cold outside?

well i can tell you that my piston slap is much worse...takes longer to go away....also i get a lot of creeks and rattles from the plastic etc in the car.....lately its been the damn t-top shade on the driver side rattling. I have SFC's so I dunno if that makes cold vibrations worse or not. The other thing that always f-ing rattles only in cold weather is the damn plastic tube coming off the antenna unit.....and it only does it right around 1500rpms where the vibration is right for it......i think its just these cars, they arent the most soildly built on the inside so cold does its thing on them

Yea, my car makes more noise in winter and the piston slap gets worse and took longer to get rid of, so I got a block heater and no more piston slap. The plastic does seem to make more noise in winter, also if you have ice on the car that can make a surprising amount of noise vibrating.

Mine rattles like a carucca between the cold weather and stiff springs
Your engine noise is the "normal GM piston slap".
