    Ok Will,

Measure a cylinder on both the passenger & drivers heads.

Both intake & exhaust came to 9 turns on the checker for both cylinders.

    9 x 0.050 = 0.45 + 6.8 + 0.075 = 7.325"

I'm pretty confident that this is the correct length. To be sure I had zero lash I change the checker to 7 turns. Had major play, then turned it to 10 turns and the rocker floated on the push rod & springs but had a gap @ the pivot spot that the bolt secures the rocker to the head.

So when payday comes I'll be ordering new set of push rods.

Looks good to me. For me 9 and 9.5 had play but 10 didn't. So I went with 10 turns. I hope this fixes your problem. I would put your 7.4 pushrods up for sale, you may get most if your money back that way.

Any idea what a set goes for? I have a set sitting in my basement with 12K miles on them.
