Check Gauge Light
2000 Z28. While driving the last couple of days, when Idling, my car shuts off. It hesitates, the voltage drops very low, and the car stalls, and flashes the Check Gauges light. When I look at the gauges, they all look normal, but the oil pressure gauge is the only gauge that is even close to the DANGER-ZONE I can start right back up, but I'm sick of sitting at lights and having this happen.

This could be a lot of things-but if it's not setting any codes then it's going to be really hard to diagnose this over the internet.Somebodies going to have to check the car out when it's experiencing this problem.

I went to Firestone for a state inspection, and I also got a starting/charging system test for $19.99, and they said my everything was good and that it was an IDLE problem. I though it was bull, so I left. I took it to AUTOZONE to have the same test done for free and they said that the Alternator is not gone yet, but the amp rating on our cars is about 102 AMPS, and I am only getting 59.2 AMPS. Is my problem the ALTERNATOR or IDLE.

59 amps, alternator is dying, sounds like you might have blown a diod. Easy fix with a rebuild kit, you just don't a warranty, It will take more time to get the thing out of the car than to fix it.
