"Check Gages" light flickering on and off
recently the "check gages" light has been flickering on and off,so i look at the gages and only thing thats out of place is the Battery gauge is constantly going from 13 which is good to 8 which is in the red.it's a brand new battery i bought last year, could it be the alternator? Cuz the power steering pump was leaking for a while which as you all know is right above the alternator.also the "high beam" blue icon is always light now too?
thanks i appreciate all the input!

Low voltage can cause a variety of problems. Get the alternator checked.

Check your connections at the battery and your grounds as well.

Is your battery a Delco? The negative terminals tend to fall out of the battery itself. Not to mention leak all over the battery tray.

Yep ^^^
I had a Delco until recently and my Neg. terminal quite literally fell out, too!!
There was evidence of a previously "fudged" repair where you could see epoxy glue in the hole
Had to give in and get a new one (different brand) and trust me...over here in the UK your choices are really limited in side post batteries and costly also I was advised to tighten lightly with a smear of petroleum jelly on the threads... worked well!!

Most likely the alternator, but won't hurt to remove the battery and take it back to where you bought it for a free load test. Make sure the battery is a minimum of 690 CCA.
