Catalytic Converter: 01 SS SLP Exhaust upgrade OEM CAT?

    All,
I tried replacing my passengers side CAT with an OEM replacement direct fit from Autozone:
    Walker New York/Catalytic Converter
For your 2001 Chevrolet Camaro 5.7L SFI 8cyl
    Warranty: 5 YR

The shop mechanic said it was a smaller diameter and is not the equivalent replacement. Is this a common problem or is the SLP exhaust upgrade at factory purchase also an upgrade to the catalytic converter. Any suggestions for what brand to replace with?

I would think that the SLP upgrade runs the stock manifolds and converters for emissions... but honestly am not certain.

Any suggestions for replacements which have shown compatibility and direct fit? My preference is to keep things equivalent between the passenger and driver side.

I will have to check, but I have a used stock slp cat that I took off my buddies ss camaro back in may. Only had like 30k on it. I put after market exhaust on his car and deleted the cats. Nothing wrong with them at all, I just gotta find out where I put them.
