Black- BLK TA modded 12.2@113mph
Case broke on my 4l60e at the back ruined how do i avoid it
My tranny snapped in the back where the shaft comes out I just ordered a rebuilt through the dealer for $1350 with a 3 year warranty . My car has 316.54 hp with 327 ft lbs of torque... Yank SS3200 nad 3:42 gears . I hear that it's the transmission moun that is the cause of this How can I fixe this issue so it doesn't happen or lowers the risk of this happening My car always had a small vibration as well so I wonder if I can kill 2 birds with one stone and get it done right!!!!!!!
Thanks again for your help!

Sounds like ya broke the tailshaft. Another member broke his a while back. I think it was from the stress of the torque arm. Snapped that mofo in half. I don't think he needed another trans though.
I can't remember what the hell it's called, but there is a torque arm that mounts to a crossmember and runs to the rearend and doesn't bolt to the trans.Last edited by cammed goat; 07-12-2011 at 11:58 AM.

I ordered a new tranny mine broke the whole back of the case it was cheaper to buy a new transmission from the dealer at 1350 I found the piece through UMI as well I need to get it shipped fast air shipping I guess my tranny is going in Friday or Monday so I don't know if this is a piece that could easily be put in after I'll check into that I don't want to change my torque arm right now The money is tight I ordered a new transmision mount as well I figured it's probably broken and caused some issues so we will see,,,,,Hopefully the car will be back on the road soon the 3:42 gears made more torque but I guess it decreases hp on the dyno from 2:73's that's weird It feels way faster all the way to 135mph anyway Pulls hard cant wait to have it done right with the lca,phb and relocation brackets If I would of known this was a problem I would of fixed it.....

If I recall, you don't have to replace your torque arm. That bracket just moves it so the torque arm bolts to that instead of the trans.

+1 Get the torque arm mount off the transmission. UMI makes a nice mount that replaces the factory trans x-member and allows you to use either the stock or an aftermarket full length torque arm.

Just called UMI he will call me back for shipping cost to Canada I wonder if they match Summit's pricing $215.96 less $10 off so $205.96 plus $42 shipping to Canada and UMI $239.95 plus same shipping I assume and we have 13% taxe here so it's a tank a gas difference in price :-)
