You should be fine, maybe just check the oil level to make sure you have enough

If you do all city driving change it every 3k, if freeway driving change it at 6k..
I'm also assuming your running synthetic and go buy a filter mag!

my light comes on about every other oil change. i guess changing the oil once a year, but only driving the car 2k miles a year would do that.

I'd then change it twice a year especially if its all city driving.
Put some Royal Purple in it.

Wont hurt anything just check your oil level and make sure your good to go. Most synthetic oil's are good clear past 3000 miles, you can reset the light and just get it changed as soon as you can.
Ps Dont make it a habbit

True they are if not under severe conditions, like stop & go's, city driving, etc.

If you do an oil analysis on RP, you won't be very happy when you see how much it shears.

I use Mobil 1, and change it every 3000.
It's pretty dirty at 3K, so I dont push it if it goes over that.

YOu can go over a while, just as long as your level is good, but I wouldnt go more thank 4000 miles without a filter and changed fluid.

Oh... and don't forget to lube your chassis while under there!
