always dirty- 2013 Ram 2014 Caddy ATS
All they will do for smog is hook up to the computer and see that all the readiness monitors are good and there is no codes. Just as long as the check engine light hasn't been on it will be fine.

No go said my o2 were not reading right. And that I put out twice as much shit out as I should sucks so I gotta see to take it to a shop and see if they can figure out what is wrong I'm pissed. That's y I was trying to see if anyone had some bootleg ways of passing cause I'm in the army so I'll be prob out if here in a 2 years and don't need no more smog

It's gotten tougher and tougher over the years. There really isn't any bootleg ways to pass. You either do or you don't or you know someone who'll pass you.
Sorry for the trouble though. At least you can leave CA in two years I'm stuck here for now...

1. Driving the car "hard" really doesn't make a difference nowadays... just as long as it's warmed up to NORMAL operating temperature.
2. In CA, there is the ASM 50/15 and 25/25 Test, the Visual Inspection, The Functional OBDII Test, And A Gas Cap Test
3. The only way you will pass is if a Smog Tech is willing to risk his License. Not Me
4. If you post your VIR (Vehicle Inspection Report) I can tell you the areas to look that would cause your smog failure
I am a Licensed Smog Technician, so this is from my personal experience not from a friend of a friend of a friend....

These are all last minute things I do.
I always clean the Air filter and MAFS , and I make sure it's up to full operating temperature before parking it at the smog shop.
My bad! Didn't realize you already got it smoged.
If you haven't already cleaned/replaced the air filter, and cleaned the MAFS then do it, and dump some Seafoam in the gas tank.Last edited by Blue28; 01-06-2010 at 12:28 PM.

California smog inspections suck ass!
tingo99 do you have mods on the car if so what?
Several years ago maybe a 10 yrs. I had this little procedure I do to the car before I CA. smogged it that some old timer showed me and it and passed every time.
Assuming you have good cats and no major mods like a dirty cam (not smog efficient)
Do a tune up with fresh spark plugs and wires.
Now this is no joke: Go to your liquor store and buy a large bottle or two of the highest proof alcohol they got anything above 151 proof. I truly forgot which brand since I don't drink hard liquor except certain tequila.
Have a little over a quarter tank of gas in the car and pour one bottle of liquor then drive the car hard for a few miles say 10 to 30 miles with lots of 3/4 to full throttle sprints or high revs. Refill to about a 1/4 tank or less of gas and another bottle.
The key to passing the sniffer is to get the cats very hot within minutes of testing.

I heard that adding Ethanol, or "denatured" alcohol helps with passing smog , but I don't know it for a fact, just hearsay.
