    A/c not blowing cold

For some reason my a/c suddenly stopped blowing cold over the period of a few days. The a/c compressor still kicks on and doesnt make any noise, I just dont have any cold air coming out. Ive heard blockages in the line or a bad compressor. Is there any way to check for sure? My buddy put a set of gauges on it and one side was high and the other was normal but I cant remember what was the high pressure side vs the low. Any suggestion on what it is or how to insect further.
