Buying a Trans Am..What problems to look for?

I'm looking at buying an 02 Trans Am WS6 Automatic. It has recently a rebuilt transmission. It is also bone stock with 77k miles. Fluid changes kept up with, etc.

The car is in amazing condition. It has a few scratches on one of the rear quarter panels but the rest of the paint is great. There are a few cosmetic glitches but that's to be expected. I took it for a test drive and i really didn't notice any problems. Transmission shifted smoothly at all speeds. Car didn't seem to have any rattles or shakes or any strange noises.

The two things that were wrong was the left signal had a burnt bulb and it pulled a little to the left.
I know i have read that some of them do tend to have electrical problems with the lights causing them to burn often. I don't think she's ever had the car aligned since she got it.

I plan on taking it to my mechanic for a thorough look-over this week. Is there any problem areas with this particular model or year that i should be looking for?

Thanks for the help. I hope to be driving a T/A soon!

Replace the burnt bulb, to make sure that is the problem.

As far as it pulling to the left, it could be a number of things - low tire presure or alligment, etc. Only a mechanic can tell.

You might want to check to see if the radio buttons on the steering wheel are working correctly. (This maybe sound odd, but there are alot of wires in the steering wheel).

I guess you already checked the "Cruise Control"?

    Thanks for the replies.

KM, I did read through the stickies before posting but i guess i missed that one.

I did not test the cruise or steering wheel controls. Will do when i bring it to my mechanic.
