buying a 98 Camaro

My friend is getting rid of his 98 camaro for $2500. its got 115,000, A4 ex cop car. it runs fine. shoud i buy it and stop building the TA. Id like to pull the ls1 and tranny out and go through it, i want 500-550hp without straining the engine, a little over bore a little stroke, decent heads and cam. Keeping it all efi and fuel injected. Comments, help me make my mind up, and give me ideas. Thanks.

If you have the cash for it, it would make a great car to build as a track/autocross car. You have the bird to drive around in so you could go more extreme on the mods of the Camaro. With the ability to go a little extreme on the mods you well easily be able to make 500+ hp.

car runs great, the body and steering suck, but the drive train is on point. I want to pull out the drive train and junk the body or sell it.

If it were me, I would buy it to re sale it, or I would put the money in your T/A instead.. Maybe use that money and put it towards a blower? Thats just my opinion though!

Thats a good idea, the paint needs buffed and the steering fixed, hell i can do all that. i didnt even think about that. nice.
