Brighter reverse light bulbs??
Firebirds take 3157 bulbs in the reverse lights...I need a brighter light, anyone know of a bulb that is brighter that is compatable with stock wires???

3156 is stock...
you could change the socket to a 3157 socket, and wire up both filaments...

that may be your problem... if someone put in a '57 it may only be lighting the dim filament... 3156 is a single filament made for reverse lights and independent turn signals... 3157 is dual filament for stop tail, and running turn...

You can use a 3457 bulb which is brighter. Us grand prix guys use them as an upgrade from 3157.

i want to say a 4157 is brighter with the same connecs
it could be a 3457 i cant remember go to your parts store and read the wattage

tried leds no good... acctually dimmer...
just use the 3157 socket and wire up both sides...
works like a charm.

i was wondering the same thing about leds like these. . . the thing is will they not direct light towards the reflective coating in the housing? won't they kind of just shine straight outwards? its like they need to be designed differently, like a cylinder or sphere? i may be wrong, just a thought lol
