    Brakes Squeeking!

My wifes car squeeks each time the brakes are applied. We had the brakes checked and the pads are at a good 50% and the components were fine.

Why do the brakes squeek every time?

Is there anything that can be done to reduce the noise? Any spray, etc, etc.

    THANKS FOR ANY REPLIES!!

It sounds like you got a set of semi-metallic pads right now,
    (They tend to squeek alot)
well you got a couple of options you could try to go the cheap way and try to use some of that brake bequite gel/ coat the outside of the pads that may help
But I would recommend getting a nice set of ceramic pads/ They are pricey but the way to go. I got a set on mine, no more squeeks and alot less brake dust.

Sometimes if you have the little metal clips at each end of the pads they become loose and you kinda hafta bend them back into position so they hold in place. Ive had to do that a couple times. They somehow touch the rotor

Agreed, I made the same mistake and got sqweeker's too. Ceramic pads are quiet, didnt notice any less brake dust though.

I have the same problem, but it seems like it's only the back brakes doing it. I have powerslot rotors with hp performance brake pads. The car stops a lot better now, and they where perfect for about a month. After a month the back left started to squeel and it hasn't stopped since.

I've used the "squeel stop" stuff you put on the pads, to help keep them from doing it, did nothing.

i've tried the spray and it dosen't help. It's just like spraying armor all on the rotors. makes it to where you can't stop as well, and when it wears off, it squeaks again.

mine seem to squeek only when i'm first applying the brakes. after they warm up a bit, or maybe it's only at a certain pedal pressure that they do it.

long story short, nothing will help in the long run, except the ceramic pads.
