Brake drag
Hi, guys
Trying to figure out how much brake drag is considered to be normal.
I raised front wheels and tried to spin them by hand, I need to apply some force to spin and they hardly make a quarter turn arter I stop spinning them. Same drag for both front. Raised rears and they go freer despite I spin both wheels and driveshaft at the same time. Do you think I have a bit of a problem here? I have new rotors, brake pads, guide pins lubricated - caliper slides easy, pistons not leaking, boots intact, was able to push pistons back by hand, no noise or smoke when driving - everything seems to be ok. But drag bothers me.
Could you share how is yours?

Shouldnt have any drag on the fronts...
Did you shave the rotors befor the install?
I have never had a caliper i could press in by hand. I always have to use a C-clamp so i would say inspect the calipers again and ensure they are realeasing when the brake is released...

I mean I was able to push pistons back by thumbs with the caliper off. Took the cap off the master cylinder and was trying to check how hard the pistons go back and forth, to exclude some kind of lock up. I normally use c lamp also.
What do you mean by shaving rotors? Never heard - never did.
Brake caliper does not release fully I think. Any ideas on the cause?
Thanks

Im sorry did you Turn the rotors? to ensure they are even all the way around?
How bad where the ones you changed out? More wear on one pad than the other?
Could just need some miles to properly break in the new pads and rotors...

I had my car up this weekend. Front wheels spin very easily. Maybe you have a pinched or twisted brake hose that causing a restriction for the fluid to return back to the master cylinder.
