    Bosch Platinum +4 plugs

I'm wondering if these plugs are any good? I pulled a plug to see what the previous owner was running in my 99 LS1 firehawk and found Bosch platinum +4 plugs. The wires just say "spiral race wire", black in color, anyone know what brand the wires might be? I was thinking of doing a tune up, but maybe not now. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

The correct gap for the NGK TR55 is .055 on a NA motor.

These are copper tipped plugs, they will only last 30K before you need to change them.

    Plugs and Wires, which ones?

What is wrong with the WeaponX plugs? I started looking on the forum last night and read nothing but good things, what did you find that changed your mind?

What, if any, is the performance difference between the TR55's and the Iridium plugs?

What about the wires any one have a suggestion?

I have the Iridium's version of the +4 in the wife's civic. No differnece between them and the 88000 mile factory units that came out.

Iridium will show no real performance.....Exotic metals plugs were designed to last longer between plug changes.
    Wires??
Crane Cams "FireWire".....less than $50 shipped from Summit

I used them in my wifes jeep and it went from 16.4 avarage to 18.2 avarage. I felt the same as the others as far as bosch stuff goes, I would not use any of it in the t/a though. That is no joke as far as mpg's go those are exact numbers however I tried them in my 02 sierra and mpg's only went up about 1 mpg, so it did not help my truck too much. The plugs perform just as good as stockers and they are cheaper than the delco's.

ANY plug would have gained over the fouled ones that were obviously in there.

Bosch plugs don't run well in anything but European engines. The few times I've seen them in American engines they just don't run right, period.

Stick with NGK or AC Delco plugs for GM engines.

Ford I usually reccommend Motorcraft or Autolite.

Chrysler, most people go with Champions, because most Chrysler engines came with those stock.

    Japanese cars, NGK or Denso.

    European cars, Bosch or NGK.

The Platinum +4s will work in a grocery getter. They will not work in a high compression motor. The ceramics in the center of the plug will shatter. It happened to two of them when I tried them. Bad choice for an LS series motor especially if it has been breathed on.

They foul quicker than shit in my truck, but they did seem to give me a better idle.
