    there are exceptions to the rule about the rears.......local guy here has been running 10's with a turbo car on the stock rear. I'm also pretty sure Ed lasted a long time on the stock rear. It does happen. The norm though is that they won't take much abuse before they go. A4 cars are also easier on rears than a M6. Is he spraying out of the hole? That's usually when rears will start busting....hard launches with sticky tires.

    Sorry, I'm still not following. Sometimes I miss obvious things though. Stock bottom end of what?

    And Orion is right, there are a few exceptions to the rears. Very few. I would say probably 1% won't have problems with the stock rear, for a while. At some point, they will break. The majority have experienced this, and swap the rear end out to a more durable unit. Those that are still running the stocker, I'd consider extremely fortunate.
