    blinking SES code

I went for a ride the other day and had to cross a puddle of water that covered the road, (I was on a one way street, no other option). I went thru it slowly, and must have got something wet because now I'm throwing a blinking SES code. I was told it ment there is a misfire, I changed the plugs and it's still doing it. Just wondering what I might of got wet or where to start looking, Thanks,B

yeah the blinking SES is a misfire. Usually the plug wires and coils get wet and cause the misfires. It may go away if it dries out. Otherwise try a good set of plug wires

I have the msd wires. are you thinking it could only be linked to coil/plug/wires? That would narrow it down. Thanks

i thought that a blinking light meant catalyst damage that may or may not be a misfire.

Yeah a blinking SES indicates a catalyst damaging misfire.

if the pcm thinks your engine is gonna send raw fuel into the exhaust therefor damaging your cats it will throw a blinking SES code to tell you to hurry the hell up and fix it, throw a scan tool on it to see if you can narrow it down to a particular cylinder. its prolly a random misfire tho, infamous p0300

I was thinking 02s since that should have ben all that got wet. I have no cats. It does have a exhaust pop every once in awhile.

Read the code it was a p300, a MAP sensor code, and a 1133 or something. the 1133 was an 02 sensor code. I have ben throwing the MAP code for awhile and I tracked that down to a bad ground. the 02 code came from a bad sensor on the pass. side that was dented pretty good (car is lowered 2 1/2 inches and the tubular kmember lowered it another inch) I think I picked up a rock somewhere. Swapped the 02 out a the car runs good again. No codes. Thanks to all that helped, B...

Correct, I worded it wrong, it was a p300(misfire code) also a MAP code and a 02 code. Thanks again for all the help. Heading to Cordova ILL for a track tune Saturday nite. Just if anyone out there that wants to meet up.
