Black Wing Lid Fitment w/ 85MM SLP MAF

Will this lid fit with my SLP 85mm MAF, I am about to get one tomorrow and was wondering if anyone was running this Lid with a 85mm MAF. Thanks.

I currently have the aftermarket SLP Lid as of now with the coupler for the lid to the maf. I may have to figure something out if it doesn't fit.

    Pic Below!

Wow that really helped out a lot thanks.... It was on the car when I bought it. And it actually does help with tuning when your pushing quite a bit more power then stock. But I think it will fit. I will see today when I get it. I made some decent power using that MAF with a good A/F ratio. I would have rather got the Z06 MAF though.

That was an honest answer. There are known issues with tuning for the SLP MAF. The stock MAF will hang all the way to 500 hp. Have you, or your tuner, calibrated the MAF tables -- or was it done before you purchased the vehicle?

Not sure if the tables were calibrated but my car has ran fine and been tuned just fine with this MAF. This was not an answer to my original question. And what are these known issues. I have only heard of stock cars running lean when this maf is added to a stock tune and stock engine. I run a decent size cam and heads. This MAF has been on the Car for years.

Sold my old cam for $150 and a SLP BlackWing Lid. So If it doesn't fit I will just keep my SLP Lid on. I want a better fitting lid and the original OEM BlackWing Lid is a great fitting lid.

I am going to get my car tuned by Speed Secrets in Everett WA. He says he can tune around the 85mm MAF no problem. And I trust him considering he has built several 10 sec and 9 sec cars. He runs a 300shot 9 Sec LTx Car.

i would think if fitment is the issue that it would lie in the slp smooth bellow... i heard they slip off a lot as well...

Yeah for sure. I know the stock lid fits well with the stock MAF and I have seen the fitment on the blackwing with the stock maf as well. But the 85mm MAF comes with an extra coupler to fit over the lid and the maf together. with out the coupler I think the rubber part on the lid may fit over the end of the maf since it doesn't have a maf end on it. As you can see in the pic above.

Well couldn't get it to fit like I wanted to because the original owner (My friend) had cut the coupler to make it fit for his set up. It was cut too short and could not get it to sit properly. Regular SLP lid it is! Just would have been a neat thing to have something kinda rare on the SS. Oh well no big deal!
