    black residue in exhaust

I have upgraded my stock exhaust to a cat-back Magnaflow exhaust I've noticed black residue accumulating in the drive side tip. I thought maybe it was just cause of new exhaust being broken in, but its 1,500 miles later and still doing it. This may have been going on for awhile just never noticed because the new exhaust tips are highly polished. The car does not blow black smoke or anything. It has only 42,000 mile on it.

Any ideas on what the problem might be?

    or

Is it just normal and keep on cleaning the tips frequently

It's normal and the reason why it only seems to accumulate on the drivers side is because most of the exhaust flows out that side.

Have the same thing out of our stock tips. Just touch them up with some extra fine steel wool and polish every week or so to keep them clean.
