Best service manual for DIY work?

    Hey all,

I'd like to pick up a really thorough, accurate GM service manual to allow me to work on my new 2001 TA WS6 convertible for miscellaneous maintenance and break/fix issues. I've seen a heck of a lot of choices, and am not really sure where to start.

Can you guys please help guide me toward the right product?

    Thanks in advance!
    B

The best from my knowledge is Helms. I had the whole set for my old 98z28. The books together are probably a foot or so tall when stacked together.

I use alldatadiy.com, $16 for a yearly membership, but so far it's far better then the books the auto parts stores sell.

+1 for the factory service manuals. Through book vendors you can generally find them for just over $100. Substantial savings versus buying them from the publisher.

+2 on the factory service manuals, mine came in handy a few times. I picked mine up at GM Carslile for 40 bucks! I couldnt get the money out of my pocket fast enough. I also use Shop Key from Snap-on. We have it at work so its free for me, some good info on there too.
