I have and read Will Handzell's, How to build high performance ls1/ls6 gen 3 engines. It was very edjucational. If your new to the gen 3 engines like I am, everyone should read it. It's great for referance also.

I have the GM/Helm service manual also, but good luck reading 3 large books and actually understanding all of the gm terminology. Not that its that hard to figure out but very time consuming, and boring. I have thumbed through them on several occasions and when I want to fix or figure out whats going on, thats were they come in. Example, they call the drive shaft a prop shaft. Prop shafts are on boats, and they have even more terminology that they have taken from boats also. Get both books.
