Been having this issue
We all know how shitty the original hood bump stops are. Well mine went to shit awhile ago and i have put in new ones. About 2 ago. The top of my lid is being rubbed by my hood. Its causing marks on both, lid and hood. Im pretty sure that the bump stops are at the height i need them at. Ive already tried moving them up or down and riding with em in that position for a lil while and seeing what happens. Even damn near completely unscrewed, it still rubs. Any thoughts?
Suspension: Lower control arms (Spohn), Drive shaft safety loop, Torque arm (Edlebrock), Strut tower brace, Panhard Bar (BMR)
Under the Hood: Smooth bellows, Lid, Catch can, LT Headers, ORY, AIR/EGR delete, Poly engine/transmission mounts,
Exterior: Painted brake calipers (Red), Halo “Spyder” Headlights w/matching parking/turn signals (Black)

Have you checked the airbox to see if the lid is on tight? There could be a clip that is caught under the lid, thus raising it against the hood. If I recall, the SS has no underhood insulation. Maybe the airbox itself is loose?

What you have to realize is that the air box in your car is not entirely "original equipment." Neither is the hood. All Camaro SS made between 1996 and 2002 are basically a Z28 that has been modified by SLP to become an "SS." The fit of some of the parts are not exact. The airbox and hood are probably installed properly and still hitting the hood. I have seen this on many Camaro SS. Prob not much that can be done other than raising the hood a little (which will affect the body line) or modifying / replacing the airbox lid.
