    Battery holder

Is there a trick to getting the battery to be secured in the triangle battery holder, or do they rust and strip out often?

2 mechanics tried and thought they had it, but it is definitely not secure... Of-course there is not much room where the battery sits so it's not like it's going to really do any damage being unsecure, however would rather have it seated in there...

They make a steel strap that attaches to the bolt on the radiator rail and ties into the post that I replaced in the thread for like $20-$30 at Summit but I would just get me a piece of aluminum and make my own before I buy one.

I would also check and make sure the lip on the back of the battery tray is still attached. It is a molded part of the tray/reservoir.

When mine stripped the "nut" that's in the fender wall, I took the long bolt to the hardware
store and found a nut, washer, locknut to fit it. Then re-installed and reached up from under the
wheel well and put the washer, locknut, nut from the bottom. Not sure if that's the problem for
    you, but might hep someone.

the problem most have is that the lip on the triangle shaped piece breaks and no longer grabs onto the battery.....I just made the bracket that goes across it and uses a bolt from the radiator support at the top and the bolt in the bottom of the battery box to hold it.
