So I cleaned off my positive battery cable of corrosion and now it starts perfect.
However, the metal surrounding the screw looked a little eaten/dissolved.
I used batter cleaner and brushed it well.
Should I still replace the battery cable just in case? What is the cost of it and can I find it in any auto store? Is it easy to replace?

I would look to see how corroded the actual cable is before pulling it. I would cut back about an inch of the rubber insulator on the cable and see how far back the corrosion goes. If it's not to bad I would either put heat shrink tubing or electrical tape over the spot I cut back and let it go. If it is corroded I would just replace it. Not a hard job and you should be able to buy the cable from any parts store.

put vasiline on your battery posts, it keeps them from corroding
