Autotrix window fix in pics

This is a discussion on Autotrix window fix in pics within the General Help forums, part of the LSx Technical Help Section category; Got the autotrix express down fix along with a new window motor.....and while I was at it finally fixed that ...

    Autotrix window fix in pics

    Got the autotrix express down fix along with a new window motor.....and while I was at it finally fixed that damm crack in the door panel.....its not to hard and might take you a few hrs ......I took over a month to do mine......put this kit and a new window motor on your must have list

    step 1.......run a wire from the bat lug on the drivers side.....notice the kit provides a fuse for the wire.......its that black thing in the middle.......water resistant

    I then came up and around the battery with that wire

    I ran the ground wire provided at the stock attaching point

    here is the fun part......running the wires into the cabin......I first loosened the computer thinking I had enough room to reach through there......but ended taking it out for more room

    computer out of the way you can see the gromment you need to go thru to get into the cabin.....I ended up making a slit in it to get the wire thru

    running wires thru the door rubber tube.....i trimmed the plastic piece that protects the wires going to the door to accommodate the extra wires

    i used 3M wire connectors with heat shrink ends instead of the connectors that came with the kit.......these are the wires that go to the block for the window switch

    if you follow the directions......you make all the connections by the window switch......i felt that made for a very crowded space........so i took the wires that go to the window motor and removed them from the harness til they reached the opening in the door..........then looped them around in the space in the door......it avoided a big jumbled mess of wires and connectors that would have been at odd angles

    patched the crack in the door panel with 3M bumper glue.....added a piece of screen mesh for reinforcement
