automatic windows sooo slow
Just got the car, and I notice the windows are very slow to go up and down. Is this standard on this car?

Yes they are riveted. You have to drill out the old rivets and replace with small bolts.
This is a GM design flaw. The motors are tremendously underpowered for the size of our windows. The same motor is used on numerous GM cars, with no problems, because the glass is half the size of ours (4-door Impala for example)...
There are instructions for doing this procedure. I've never done it, but the instructions are pretty clear if your fairly mechanical.
Here's the link...

I remember seeing a relay setup on a site that fixes this problem without replacing the motor.

And to think, NO ONE has made a better powered motor. Kinda crazy considering the need. Lotta money to be made....
I tried installing one myself WITH a mechanic. Bare in mind, it was in my driveway rather than his shop (he works at chrysler, so Id have to pay for the time). I forget what happened, I think he ran out of time, but he said it was the worst window motor install hes done. He said hed finish it, but I think he had to go somewhere. This was a while ago. He only got half way done with the passenger door. He didnt even get to the the driver side.
In any case, I ended up just paying someone else to do it. These AutoZone motors sure are junk, lifetime replacement or not. They were slow right from the get go... I seriously would consider paying double the price for a BETTER POWERED MOTOR, than to reinstall these shitty ass motors, even with AutoTrix's fix.

Thats where the AutoTrix's fix comes in. Something about redirecting the power for the passenger side motor. The passenger side motor's power travels are longer distance or experiences electrical obstacles or both! This trick does the trick
But to rip open my car just to do that? I dont know, I really dont ever want to try this job again.
