High Flow cats WILL smooth everything out with NO LOSS of HP....well maybe 1 horsepower difference....... don't worry though fellow LS1er, you won't feel the difference....

I'm assuming it had rasp before you changed to the bullet muffler???[/QUOTE]

I've got a rasp, but I think it may be because I have open headers

Used to have rasp until I put on the Hooker Aerochamber. Now it's calmed down 90%. I do miss scaring the parking attendent on start-up, tho! I could start the car in the underground lot, near the attendent, and watch him jump LOL. The new Hooker won't let the car explode to life anymore.

I'm actually still debating doing a hooker. I just got a 402 and am trying to be as quiet as I can. I'd love to sound stock-ish.... If I could.

^^^At first I didn't like the Aerochamber, but now I do. I was used to it being so F'ing loud before. The Hooker was almost too quiet at idle when I first got it. After following my car, while really trying to keep up with it, (I was driving his 1965 tri-power 4-speed GTO 4 weeks ago) I found that the sound is damn near perfect for me. Sounds mean as hell when he got on it.

So if you want a nearly quiet idle, and sounds real nice when you get on it, I recommend the Hooker. When I'm in my car, it reminds me of how some Mustangs sound, and to me that's a compliment.

After my longtubes and cat delete I noticed a lot more air movement and I hated it, I thought it was a leak but have been told otherwise.

I have flowmaster and a e cut out before the muffler

Owning a 9 sec ricer is like coming out of the closest: at first you'll surprise everyone, but in the end you're still gay

Perfect! That's the info I'm looking for! Still a 346, right?

Both of our 4th gens have the optional SLP catback (transverse muffler) with long tube headers and off road Y-pipes on both and I've never noticed any rasp, but like I said, I wouldn't know it if they did. Maybe they do, maybe they don't.

Either way, sounded like piss to me. I hated it.
So much so, I cut it off. Literally.

Doesn't bother me any. To each their own I guess. So many cars running around sound like that now it's just about common place.
About the only way to get rid of it short of choking the system down would be larger pipe diameters for the single guys, or go dual systems with an X or H pipe in there.

I like the sound of it in that too, just as well as before. I just like all sorts of exhaust systems I guess. Probably explains why I use 7 different types of systems on several different cars. I'm not really attached to any one brand or sound.
