    Anyone hear this..........

I have the slp lid and k & n filter and now I notice when I turn my car off as I am getting out it sounds like the intake is making a hissing sound, almost like it's BREATHING!!!! Is this just my car actually "breathing"? And is this a good thing?

Yes, you can hear the air being sucked through the intake. That is one of the things I loved about my 97 SS! It was loud!

What? Have you ever turned an engine over by hand with a breaker bar on the damper? Ever heard the sucking noise it makes?
This is one of the issues with the factory intake with the silencer. It makes it tough for the LS1 to breath!

You already have the mods to make it breath better (a.k.a. lid and filter)

ya know something, I just bought a 2000 trans am, traded in a 2000 corvette for the car, and it has a slp lid with a k&n filter, and it makes the same noise.

I would guess you're hearing your HVAC system (e.g. A/C depressurizing)...

As stated it's either the AC system equalizing pressures or the electric AIR pump winding down. The key here is the noise occurs after shut down. Unless he is jumping out of the car at superman like speed he won't hear the engine air intake still sucking air. The AIR pump is now heard much louder than before because of the lack of noise silencing that the stock set-up was mandated by Federal noise regulations to have. The A/C noise is normal in most any car as the high pressure side bleeds down into the low pressure side.
