Anyone had their exterior door panel come off?

So, I opened my passenger side door the other day and I noticed that the body panel is separating from the door! WTF? It's hard to tell how it was put together in the first place... adhesive? Rivets? Not really sure... any idea of cost to "stick it back together"? There is no paint damage and the door otherwise works.

I recently had the window motor replaced, but I don't think that requires access from the outside, does it?

I had this happen in my old 94 Z28, brought it in to the local chevy dealer, and they applied adhesive and "c" clamps to correct the problem.

Here are a couple of pics of the door. I really don't understand what happened. "C-clamps" seems a little mickey mouse, to me... :/

The door panel shakes when I close the door, and it pulls a way a little bit when I open.

Let me clarify, when I received the vehicle back from the dealer there were no c clamps on the door, and it was like the door was brand new.

The dealer re adhesive the outer panel, and used c clamps (with rubber on the teeth) until the adhesive fully cured. The c clamps kept pressure on the outer and inner panel, UNTIL IT CURED. Then the clamps were removed.

Any idea what adhesive they used?

get a good 2part epoxy for fiberglass. Check with a body shop, they'll have it. Same happened to mine.
I like work. It fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours.

Not sure, but urethane may also work to bond them together. I would use rubber tipped clamps like these: 1" Capacity Steel Spring Clamp

Well, if it's as easy as gluing it back together, then I guess it's not that big a deal, as long as I can get the right stuff to hold it together. Not really sure how I'll handle the c-clamps because I don't have a secure place to park my car.
