    any tips on install silicon gaskets for winter car??

    its for a saturn and theres no gasket just silicone. doing this week end just want to know any tips or tricks

    put the tube in a cup of hot water for 5 minutes before you apply it.

    just make sure you let the silicone to get tacky before installing whatever. its not required but its the best way to do it.

    also with silicon less is more. Don't put more on there than you have to. Just a thin bead is normally plenty.

    I've also heard of this being the best method when using the silicone from an old mechanic buddy.

    this si a head gasket for a saturn, looks likes its been done before since its really haeavy and sloppy. just trying to stop a 1/3 of my leaks problems.

    honeslty I would get an actual gasket for it, screw the silicon. CAnt you just get a regular gasket fior it?

    didnt think of that. probly but after looking at 1 other saturn its silicon.

    sure that stock one was a graphite gasket? was it grey and stuck to everything? Although a graphite gasket will still have the gasket part. I wouldn't think silicone would seal a head.
