Any homemade smooth air bellow ideas?

I really think its crazy to buy a piece of rubber "smooth air bellow" for the price they have listed, but I really need one. I know $60 bucks isnt worth the 5hp its supposed to earn you, so does anyone have a good way to make one?....my buddy made one with just a peice of rubber for $5 but it bends at the bottom and restricts his airflow...I have a '01 WS6 so my airlid is raised and theres not much space inbetween the T/B and MAF sensor. any ideas would be helpful please?

And you don't gain ANY power from it. It is an appearance mod more than anything.

you can also search the web for silicone couplers. There are tons of sites that sell them. 3x3 should do you if you're on the stock tb and stock maf.

Yea that sucks, I'll just keep my stock one, the tuning shop said with my mods it would give me 5 RWHP to install a smooth air bellow at most and im getting ready to take it in, he suggested that and a 160 thermostat, which I just got, he told me to install it the day before I bring my car because my car wont run right, says the fan will still kick on at 195 and it will throw the A/F mixture off...my mods are SLP lid,mac filter, msd plug wires, hooker aerochamber muffler, pacesetter LT's with catless y-pipe,free mods, I just installed a spec clutch and took my tranny out and had a reputable shop built it with parts from D&D, everything was changed it cost me $3000 and thats with me taking it out and installing it, and from factory it had 3:42's in rear, with alum driveshaft, I got the 241 heads...I ran 13.08 with a 2.0 60ft @107 with just the plug wires, muffler and slp lid, with 110,000mi, I dont know how...but the guy tuning my car said the headers and catless y-pipe with tune will give me another 60-80RWHP, so it all sounds crazy to me but we will see...he says I had around 320RWHP to start to have ran 13.08 with worn clutch and beat tranny, that was the only run ive ever made on the car, he thinks its maybe had work done in the past, because it has no oil leaks, looks brand new in engine bay, and just runs great........

That looks awesome...it looks like the fitting is bigger at the throttle body than at the MAF sensor, is it different size on each end?...what size do I need for a stock MAF and T/B on my 2001 trans am its a WS6 so has the raised air lid if that makes a difference.....

its the same size actually, the MAF side just sucks down more, that and when you do it, the home depo on will not have a bend it it, so you will pry haveto do like i did, and intall the MAF end, then see where it want to sit, with mine i had to trim from roughly halfway, to half an inch off the top and back to flush on the other side, then things fit better.... look in the pictures, you can see what im talkint about... dont quote me but i believe it is a 4in piece....

That is my plan. Probably in the next few months now that things are settling down. I'm going to see if I can heat gun and freezer cycle it to try and get a little bend in it.

well my buddy has a homemade one on his 98 Z28 but its more of a straight shot to his T/B from his MAF, my MAF sits about 2 or 3 inches higher than his and has more of an angle....

Here's another vote for the Home Depot route. This put me back a whopping $5.
