    Anti-syphon tool/changing fuel pump

I really need some help on how to empty 10 gallons of fuel out of the tank of a 97 trans am. I tried suing a syphon tool but there's the anti system at the end of the fuel neck. What choices do i have to still get it out?

Two things you can do...I've done both.

    1. Drop the tank with the fuel in it (when I dropped mine the second time, it was completely full) and siphon the fuel out of the fuel pump hole.

    2. Cut a 7" square hole above the fuel pump and siphon the fuel out that way (if you're trying to change the pump, then you don't even have to siphon the fuel).

Thanks for the reply. I think i was just afraid for when i lower the tank in a few hours it'll be hard to get the neck out, since i hear you sometimse have to move the tank around a bit

is your pump working at all? If it is you can use it and pump it right out the shrader valve.

Wish it was that easy :P

Naw the fuel pump is what went out on the car. I got the tank out after 30minutes of frustration but we got it.

Fuckers are expensive...Not to mention no one fuckin carries them. I hate having to wait days for shipping...

I thought I got a bad pump from Racetronix, so I ordered a second one. Ended up being an electrical problem, now I have an extra.
