I don't go by the dipstick. Owners manual says 5.5.

I guess I'll put another half a quart then. I hope you're right.

I just put another half a quart in. The car runs a bit smoother. Pennzoil Platinum.

Do you use a long filter or a short one? Longer one will increase the capacity a lil.

Get the 5.3 2003 truck oil filter

    k&N 2006

Why shouldnt you go by the dipstick? Some oil filter capacities are different. Always go by the dipstick IMO because it if you had a smaller filter and put in the wrong amount it could cause bubbles in the oil from the crank.. just my .02

From what I've heard its the worst or the worst. Of course thats just what my dad says for the most part.

Anywho, Sarge, what are you talking about when you refer to "Dr. Haas?"

Well, I don’t think everyone is going to run out and buy some 10-weight oil for their car. However, maybe they won’t have the notion that 0W oils are too thin for their engine…

LOL....hopefully we have beat this horse to death around here....these guys know the 0w oils are not "bad" and understand the multi viscosity misunderstands/misstatements etc. At least I hope so by now!
